Popes Lane

Rockwell Green

Persimmon Homes South West is seeking to submit an outline planning application to Somerset Council later this year for up to 250 much-needed, high-quality, new homes on land off Popes Lane to the south-east of Rockwell Green.

The development, featuring public open space, will address local housing needs, incorporate sustainable and eco-friendly features, and blend with the surrounding neighbourhood to foster a sense of place and community.

The scheme will provide a mix of house types and tenures, including much needed affordable housing for the area.

Persimmon is committed to leaving a positive and lasting legacy in the areas in which it develops, so will be engaging thoroughly with the local community to ensure our scheme delivers on local priorities.

Persimmon is engaging with Somerset Council on the emerging proposals and has consulted the South West Design Review Panel and Wellington Town Council, to help ensure that the development is high-quality and locally distinctive. All feedback to-date has been positive.

The plans are at an early stage and more information will be forthcoming and published on this website as they become available. This website explains the features of the application and provides an opportunity for you to respond to our questionnaire and give your views on the scheme.

About Persimmon Homes

Persimmon Homes is one of the South West’s largest housebuilders. It recently secured its third consecutive five-star status from the House Builder Federation, meaning nine out of ten customers would recommend them to a friend.

Persimmon is an accredited Living Wage employer, is c30% less expensive than its competitors, and spends over £700,000 each year across the country on good causes and much-valued organisations.

All of the proposed dwellings are delivered in accordance with the Future Homes Standard, which achieves a significant reduction in carbon emissions compared to traditional building methods, helping it meet its Net Zero targets.
